Two brothers with a vision and a dream of someday owning their own trucking company entered into the industry with just that in mind.
Right out of college, trucking became a part of Martin and Jack Holmes’ world as they began to mold what would become a premier flatbed and specialized carrier in the transportation industry.
Driving and working many long and hard hours during and after college, the journey began.
Their parents, Gene and Libby Holmes were very supportive as well as involved in the trucking industry. Mr. & Mrs. Holmes owned and operated one of the class 8 truck dealerships for several years.
Holmes Company was started in 1981 with 1 truck. Today the fleet consists of 100 power units operating throughout the 48 states meeting the needs of the customers. Transporting steel and building materials, including over-dimensional freight, Holmes provides late model Freightliner tractors, trailers and the latest in transportation technology to ensure “superior” service to all our customers.
With over 40 years of “hands on” trucking experience, Holmes Company provides superior services to all our customers from coast to coast. The commitment made daily by the experienced and well-trained Holmes Team ensures the safe delivery of each customer’s load. To that end, no compromises, exceptions, or shortcuts, are considered. With every tractor equipped with a Omnitracs Satellite Communications Tracking System, we can provide real-time positions as well as messaging with our operations team to keep our customers updated on pick-up as well as delivery times if requested.

The Holmes Safety Program demonstrates our company’s effort to keep safety at the wheel as each driver leaves with their load. We are repetitive winners of safety awards sponsored by the Mississippi Trucking Association.
